Private bus crushes 24-year old engineer to death

AURANGABAD: A 24-year old engineer was crushed to death by a private bus speeding in the wrong way on Saturday morning. The impact of accident was such that the youth, who in spite of wearing a helmet, sustained serious head injuries and succumbed. The accident took place at around 7.30 am near the army tank on Ahmednagar Naka road, when the bus with registration number MH-04-G-8821 heading towards city took a wrong way and hit the youth who was heading toward his office on the bike.
The deceased has been identified as Rupesh Shashi Gopalan, a resident of Nikita Apartment, Sangita Colony, Bhavsinghpura Road.
The the city police have arrested Taponkumar Letchitranjan Ganguly, the driver of the private bus. Police said that the deceased youth is the son of Shashi Gopalan, who has just retired as secretary from Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital. Rupesh joined the private firm in the month of December and on Saturday morning he was heading office, when the accident took place.
